Reading: Bruno Fuchs
The author Bruno Fuchs reads from his latest book «Reiche Schweiz - Arme Menschen» (Rich Switzerland - Poor People) and fascinates with his short stories.
In 2019, 8.7 per cent of the Swiss population was affected by poverty. How do people living in poverty in Switzerland live? And can poor people be rich in confidence and humility? Bruno Fuchs portrays eleven people of different age groups who talk openly about their lives and are affected by poverty for various reasons. In the case of the women, divorce was usually the reason why they ended up on the poverty line; for the men, work played a role. The eleven portraits are moving, thought-provoking and scratch the surface of the taboo of poverty.
