Wine week at the Belvedere

Taste selected wines from the Valtellina every day during our wine week from 4 September to 9 September 2023. Every day from 6.30 p.m., different wines are available for tasting in the restaurant.

Valtellina is part of the northern Italian region of Lombardy. The most famous places are Sondrio, Bormio and Chiavenna. The Romans are said to have brought viticulture to this region as early as 100 BC. Varieties such as the Nebbiolo grape, which produces high-quality red wines, are at home here. The top vineyards are marked as DOCG Valtellina Superiore and are allowed to bear the names of the vineyards: Valgella, Inferno, Grumello, Sasella, Maroggia.

The highlight of the wine week is the tasting by Dante Gramatica and Stefan Zehnder from Wine AG in Pontresina. On Thursday, 7 September 2023 from 6 p.m. in the lobby, they will tell you interesting facts about selected wines from the Valtellina. During dinner, with a matching menu, they will continue to be available for interested parties.

The wine tasting during the week is free of charge for guests of the BELVEDERE HOTEL FAMILY. External guests can also participate for CHF 25.-.

The wine presentation takes place as part of half board. We recommend that guests without half board reserve a table for this evening.
